CDBurnerXP is a renowned program among recording applications; an excellent tool for burning different types of discs and working with ISO files.
Among the features in CDBurnerXP you’ll find tools to burn data discs, music discs, ISO images and also copy discs all from your memory stick, without leaving any trace on the host computer. All of these options are conveniently organized in a tool menu – the main screen you seen when running CDBurnerXP.
Each button in this launch menu opens the corresponding application in a separate window. From then on, the recording process follows the standard procedure: select data to burn, press the Record button, tweak burning settings and you're done. CDBurnerXP supports CD, DVD (including HD-DVD) and also Blu-Ray discs.
The only downside to CDBurnerXP is the fact that the main screen closes every time you choose a burning task, so if you want to switch from erasing a disc to burning something else on it, you’ll have to start CDBurnerXP twice.

With this software you can burn CD-R, CD-RW DVD+R/RW DVD-R/RW discs. It offers the following main features:
- Writes all kind of mediums apart from double-layer DVD (follows in next version)
- Burn audio-CDs with and without gaps between tracks
- Burn on the fly / Burn-proof
- Supports most IDE, USB, Firewire and SCSI drives
- Rip Audio-CDs to harddrive, obtain track-information (ID3-tags) from Internet
- Burn and create ISO-files
- Customizeable with many settings
- Data verification after burn, create bootable discs
- Bin/nrg->ISO converter, simple cover printing and much more
"Unable to burn to dvds"
Looks great and seems easy to navigate but I can't get the program to recognize any of my burners or if it does it doesn't read the blank dvds as recordable. So I haven't been able to actually burn anything to test it out. If I can get it to work this would be my preferred free burning program because it does it all and its easy to maneuver and there doesn't seems to be a lot of ads or pushes to upgrade.
